Dr. Toy announces Green Kids Club Toys and Books as one of the Eighth Best Green Toy Awards for 2014

For the eighth year Stevanne Auerbach, PhD/Dr. Toy, recognizes the Best Green Toy and Children’s Products and the Best Green Toy Company. This year, with Jennie Ito, PhD., Dr Toy’s Best Green Awards brings attention to the excellent innovative products and companies that are working toward making an important difference in playthings while reducing the impact of production.

The award winning Green Products are made by companies striving to inspire children to appreciate the environment and help them learn to take better care of our natural resources. These companies are making products to teach children more about our planet and producing playthings that are based on Green Principles. These are excellent examples of playthings that are made safely, are healthy to use, and have plenty of other special play and learning values.

Winners of 2014 award is proudly announced below, including products from the Green Kids Club, Inc. of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Green Kids Club writes and illustrates stories related to environmental stewardship, and management of animal ecosystems. The books are based on children (the Green Kids) who drink water from a magic spring and obtain the power to communicate with animals. Green Kids Club stories also take difficult environmental situations such as habitat encroachment, drought issues, endangered species, and poaching as some examples. Stories entail environmental adventure and helping the animals. The Green Kids Club includes a series of 8 environmental stories, including Jr. Level readers and Spanish translations. As part of the Green Kids Club products are two animations and plush toys to augment the story lines. “We are so excited to have won this prestigious award, and that Dr. Toy sees our product and books as something that can help teach children the importance of environmental stewardship. We are hoping our stories will make a difference in this world,” says Sylvia Medina, President of Green Kids Club, Inc.

As awareness grows more families are thinking and considering new directions that are safer, more balanced, healthier and in many cases are reflective of the “slow” movement as they provide play that respects the child’s pace of exploration.
